April 22, 2004: Project>Soundwave Starts with Some Noise
When Project>Soundwave launched its CD release
and event series, a stray chord echoed in the streets of San Francisco.
Then a bang, a crack, and a yell. An impromptu street parade along Valencia
erupted, clapping, shouting and playing, carrying the banner "FREE
SOUND", and welcoming all to what Project>Soundwave is all about:
Asking to free your mind of what sound is and what it can be; Exploring
sound everywhere and within all of us; and Rallying for the freedom of
speech and expression. Welome to Project>Soundwave.
The night introduced the artists of Project>Soundwave and work that
intersect sound and film. It featureed live perfomances by Neal Morgan,
Tim Gallaher and GroundChuck, and films, music videos, sound installations
and video art by Castle Castle, James Bohn, thom poe, rjTuna and Maria
Blondeel. More Info.
