MEDIATE NETWORK
is seeking artists and musicians to be part of the 2nd season of
the Soundwave>Series. The event series explores the nature of
sound and music, and is scheduled for the Spring of 2006 in multiple
venues around San Francisco USA.
MEDIATE is seeking to present performances involving the theme of
'Immersion' titled SOURROUND>SOUND. Invited artists will
receive a portion of the door proceeds after production expenses
(amount can not be guaranteed at this time).
Submissions should include:
- Demo or Proposal
(under 100 words) describing what you are interested in doing
and what you are hoping to achieve with the audience. Provide
in proposal equipment/instruments being used, including what equipment
is needed (clearly identify all equipment the artist(s) cannot
provide) for performance.
- A short bio
- Relevant
links to your previous sound/music work.

Soundwave>Series Season 2: SURROUND>SOUND

This season’s Soundwave>Series attempts to explore deeper
connections and experience with sound through an all encompassing
aural environment
.
SURROUND>SOUND embarks on a journey into the viewer’s mind:
how sounds affects the body and senses. It challenges the viewer
to heighten their aural experiences by removing the relationship
of performer and audience (dutifully watching performer) and creating
a space-specific site where sounds envelope the viewer and their
sight is partly conjured by the viewers own creative mind.
ME'D1.ATE is seeking sound artists and musicians interested in exploring
new connections and experiences between performer and audience with
their music and sounds. Through their performance (or collaboration
with other artist(s)), SURROUND>SOUND aims to create a unique
event that will inspire and challenge audiences with a new, bold
and intense sound and music experience.
ME'D1.ATE accepts current or new work to perform. Performers are
encouraged to explore ideas of getting audiences to a closer experience
to their own sound/music. (Whatever is most appropriate for their
own work). ie Blindfolds/space-specific design, installation, visual
cues (ie projection, lights, imagery, film, video, performance/antics,
etc) ME'D1.ATE can help explore those possibilities with you in
terms of collaborators, equipment and feasibility needs.

Soundwave>Series is an event series that is part of a larger
project dedicated to the exploration of sound titled "Project>Soundwave".
It invites sound artists, composers, noise artists and musicians
to perform, play and experiment with aural landscapes and inspire
new and diverse audiences with new ways to perceive themselves and
